It's the last newsletter as my term as President of RCGS, and I wanted to thank the membership for all of the help and support this year!
We as an organization have had an eventful year, with a lot of changes, and have grown stronger and more prepared for the future. We have worked to balance the traditions of true documented genealogy and added new ways of others having access to us. Among these changes are adding our RCGSIL.org webpage and updating our Facebook page, our Facebook Group, and our Rootsweb page. Please check out all the changes! As a reminder, our library is closed from December 10, 2019, and our Christmas party gathering is at 4:30 December 10 at Reid's Harvest House. Please RSVP by December 6 to assure a space. We reopen January 6, 2020. Please email any questions you may have during our closed weeks, and we will answer them when we return. Also remember that dues are due January 1, 2020. Our quarterly is out early this quarter, containing our new book list and flyer for our newest book, for your convenience so you may have them for any Christmas needs. Than you to our researchers, volunteers and donors who make RCGS operate day to day. Keep up the good work. We just had our 2020 election of officers and they are as follows: Clark Prest, President; Lola Crowder, Secretary; Betty Qualls, Treasurer; Julie Gangloff, Trustee; Larry Frazer, Trustee; Peg Fulton, Trustee. Thank you for serving in the coming year! Have a happy Thanksgiving, a merry Christmas, and a happy New Year!

AuthorAs President of the Randolph County Genealogical Society of Illinois I'll be using this blog space to bring you the latest news and happenings from the Randolph County Genealogical Society of Illinois, and update you on the official news from our organization. There are many out there that pretend to be the Randolph County Genealogical Society of Illinois, but we're the one and only official Genealogical Society from the County where Illinois began!
